The Intercity Train West Axis project will enable rail connection between the capital, the São Paulo Metropolitan Region, and the city of Sorocaba. The trip is expected to take 60 minutes and will have four new stations. The projected demand is 50,000 passengers per day. Currently, road travel takes 110 minutes by car and 130 minutes by bus. The proposal is to establish a PPP based on route guidelines by CPTM.
