São Paulo state government to receive proposals for the Paranapanema lot auction this Monday (9/1)

Proposal submissions precede Friday’s auction (9/5), which foresees R$ 5.8 billion in investments and the duplication of 147 kilometers of highways in the region

The Government of São Paulo will receive on Monday, September 1, at the São Paulo Stock Exchange (B3), the proposals from companies interested in the concession auction for the Paranapanema lot. The auction will be held next Friday, September 5, at 10 a.m., also at B3.

The project covers 285 kilometers of highways in the interior of São Paulo state and foresees R$ 5.8 billion in private investments over 30 years. The goal is to enhance road safety, improve traffic flow, and boost regional development.

Planned improvements
The works package includes the duplication of 147 kilometers of highways, 29 new pedestrian overpasses, 84 bus stops, and 56 kilometers of shoulders. It also includes 13 kilometers of frontage roads, 15 grade-separated interchanges, and 39 at-grade intersections.

The highways will also feature LED lighting in urban areas, CCTV monitoring cameras, variable message signs, wireless communication coverage, weigh stations, and ambulances for pre-hospital emergency care.

Regional impact
The Paranapanema lot covers sections of the Raposo Tavares Highway (SP-270), between Ourinhos and Itapetininga, in addition to complementary highways (SP-189, SP-278, SPA-204/270, SPA-245/270, SPA-326, and SPA-312). Thirteen municipalities will directly benefit, including Ourinhos, Itapetininga, Paranapanema, and Piraju.

The full duplication of Raposo Tavares along this stretch will establish a new strategic corridor for agribusiness, connecting the interior of São Paulo and the Midwest region to the Port of Santos, as an alternative to the Castello Branco Highway (SP-280).

Consolidation of Raposo Tavares
With the Paranapanema lot, added to the Nova Raposo and Rota Sorocabana projects granted in 2023, the Raposo Tavares will become a fully duplicated and modernized corridor, better distributing traffic and easing pressure on the Castello Branco.

Siga Fácil
Siga Fácil is the São Paulo state government’s system that replaces toll plazas with intelligent electronic gantries, identifying vehicles by license plate or tags, making the process faster, more efficient, and fairer. With Siga Fácil, drivers pay only for the distance traveled. Supervised by the São Paulo State Transport Agency (Artesp), the system eliminates lines and reduces accidents. It will be gradually implemented in the most recent concession projects, such as the Novo Litoral Paulista, Nova Raposo, and Rota Sorocabana, in addition to existing contracts. The website sigafacil.sp.gov.br provides a map of gantries, payment options, and customer service channels.
