São Paulo State Government holds public hearing on new management model for Parque Bruno Covas

Virtual hearing takes place this wednesday (January 21st) and is part of a public consultation open until January 22nd

The São Paulo State Government, through the Secretariat of Partnerships and Investments (SPI) and the Secretariat for the Environment, Infrastructure and Logistics (Semil), will hold a public hearing this wednesday, January 21, at 11 a.m., to present and receive contributions on the qualified use-permission project for Parque Bruno Covas – Novo Rio Pinheiros.

The hearing will be held virtually, with live streaming on the official São Paulo State Government YouTube channel, and aims to improve the park’s management model, enhancing administrative efficiency and the quality of services offered to the public.

The proposal предусматриes the adoption of a qualified use-permission model focused on the administration, operation, maintenance, and organization of activities within the park, including the expansion of public-use support services, new leisure options, and requalification initiatives. The project ensures free public access, with no admission fee, as well as the preservation of the area’s environmental features.

Parque Bruno Covas covers approximately 8.2 kilometers along the western bank of the Pinheiros River and is designed to strengthen its role as a space for leisure, sports, culture, social interaction, and urban and environmental integration, with enhanced safety for users. Between 2021 and 2024, the park welcomed more than 5.4 million visitors, highlighting the need for a sustainable management model capable of ensuring maintenance and expanding services.

Those interested in participating in the public hearing must register in advance through a form available on the project’s page on the SPI website by January 20, at 5 p.m.

Public consultation

The project is also open for public consultation, with contributions accepted until Thursday, January 22. Relevant documents, participation guidelines, and the submission form are available on the Secretariat of Partnerships and Investments website, in the project’s public consultation section. Only contributions submitted within the established deadline and in accordance with the official guidelines will be considered.
