The Secretariat for Investment Partnerships (SPI) will hold two public hearings on the concession project for investment, conservation, maintenance, and economic operation of the Campos do Jordão Railway Tourist Complex. The announcement was published this Wednesday (May 7) in the State Official Gazette and is also available on the SPI website.
The first hearing will be held in person on May 19 at 11:00 a.m. at the Campos do Jordão City Council, located at Rua Inácio Caetano, 490, in Vila Abernéssia. Those wishing to speak can register via the form available on the SPI website or in person prior to the start of the hearing.
The second meeting will be held online on May 20, also at 11:00 a.m., allowing broader participation from the public and other interested parties. The link to access the live stream will be made available in advance on the SPI website, and those who wish to speak may also register via the online form available on the same page.
In addition to the public hearings, those interested in contributing to the project can submit their suggestions through the public consultation, which opened on Monday (May 5) and will remain available to the public until June 23. These initiatives reinforce the São Paulo State Government’s commitment to transparency, public oversight, and the improvement of public-private partnership projects.
The concession project for the Campos do Jordão Railway includes estimated investments of over R$ 400 million, aimed at the modernization and renovation of the railway line, including tracks, trains, and related equipment.
Stretching 47 kilometers, the complex features a tourist railway, the 38,000 m² Reino das Águas Claras Park, and the Railway Memory Museum, in addition to workshops, stations, and cultural assets to be implemented throughout the concession period.
All suggestions received through the public hearings and the consultation will be individually reviewed by SPI’s technical team and, if deemed relevant, will be incorporated into the concession project.
