Public consultation for the Campos do Jordão Railway Tourist Complex open until june 23

Participation is open to individuals and legal entities interested in contributing to the development of the project.

The São Paulo State Secretariat for Partnerships and Investments (SPI) announces that the public consultation for the concession project of the Campos do Jordão Railway Tourist Complex is open until June 23, 2025. The proposal involves the concession of the railway, with estimated investments of R$ 400 million aimed at modernizing and refurbishing the rail line, including tracks, trains, and associated equipment.

Launched on May 5, the consultation seeks to gather input from civil society, experts, companies, and other stakeholders to improve the project’s structure. Suggestions must be submitted via an electronic form available in the Public Consultation Guidelines, accessible in the data room on the project’s page on the SPI website. These contributions may support adjustments to the studies before the call for bids, which is expected to be published in the second half of 2025.

Stretching 47 kilometers, the complex includes a tourist-oriented railway, the Reino das Águas Claras Park (covering 38,000 m²), the Railway Heritage Museum, as well as workshops, stations, and cultural assets to be developed throughout the duration of the contract.

The project has strong tourism potential and complements the concession of the Campos do Jordão and Capivari state parks. The initiative aims to preserve the historical heritage of the railway, promote sustainable tourism, and foster regional development through the revitalization of key infrastructure for the sector and the local economy.

Further information, technical documentation, and participation guidelines are available on the SPI website.
