São Paulo Government launches official mission to Asia to attract infrastructure investments

A delegation led by the Secretariat for Investment Partnerships will visit China, South Korea, and Japan, focusing on mobility, logistics, and urban development.

The Government of São Paulo began an international mission to Asia this Monday (June 16), with the goal of strengthening dialogue with companies, financial institutions, and government agencies from China, South Korea, and Japan. The agenda, coordinated by the State’s Secretariat for Investment Partnerships (SPI), will take place from June 16 to 27, with a focus on urban mobility, rail transport, logistics infrastructure, and urban revitalization projects.

The São Paulo delegation will be led by the Secretary for Investment Partnerships, Rafael Benini, and will include the participation of the CEO of the São Paulo State Transport Agency (ARTESP), André Isper, and the Corporate Affairs Director of the São Paulo Partnerships Company (CPP), Augusto Almudin. During the mission, the group will present the State’s main projects from its portfolio of concessions and public-private partnerships, including the Intercity Train West Axis (TIC Sorocaba), the Santos–Guarujá Immersed Tunnel, the ABC–Guarulhos Lot (Lines 10 and 14), the new Campos Elíseos Administrative Center, the Waterway Crossings PPP, among others.

Meetings will involve leading companies in the rail transport, infrastructure, electric mobility, and telecommunications sectors, as well as multilateral financing institutions.

“São Paulo leads Brazil in an infrastructure agenda marked by technical quality, regulatory security, and direct impact on people’s lives. Our goal with this mission is to attract strategic partners, present investment opportunities, and gather feedback that will help further improve our projects,” said Rafael Benini, São Paulo State Secretary for Investment Partnerships.

The mission will also be an opportunity to broaden the exchange of experiences with countries that have well-established models for urban mobility, spatial planning, and infrastructure financing. “We will seek technical and institutional cooperation, but also demonstrate that São Paulo is ready to receive sustainable, long-term investments focused on efficiency, inclusion, and regional development,” Benini added.

This initiative reinforces the São Paulo Government’s commitment to modernizing public services, attracting private capital, and delivering structural projects that positively impact the economy and the population’s quality of life.
