The future Line 14-Onyx project, initiated by the São Paulo State Government, was presented to the public through hearings held on February 12, 13, and 14 in São Paulo, Santo André, and Guarulhos. The new line, connecting Guarulhos to Santo André via São Paulo’s eastern zone, will comprise 23 stations over 41 kilometers of track.
The Line 14-Onyx project anticipates investments exceeding R$ 13.1 billion. According to the proposed timeline, construction will span 10 years, divided into three phases:
- Phase 1 (Years 4 to 7): Hospital Jardim Helena to Rio das Pedras
- Phase 2 (Years 7 to 10): Rio das Pedras to ABC
- Phase 3 (Years 8 to 10): Hospital Jardim Helena to Bonsucesso
By 2040, the line is expected to serve approximately 225,000 passengers daily, with train intervals of 5 minutes, adjustable as needed.
Investment Partnership Program
The public-private partnership project for the ABC-Guarulhos Lot is part of the state’s Investment Partnership Program (PPI-SP), which aims to expand investment, employment, and socio-economic, technological, environmental, and industrial development opportunities in São Paulo. To date, 29 projects have been qualified, with a portfolio exceeding R$ 494 billion.
The program’s approach is grounded in project sustainability, legal security, regulatory stability, and adherence to national and international best practices.
