This PPP project connects the municipalities of Santos and Guarujá via an immersed tunnel. It will allow the circulation of private vehicles, public transport, trucks, bicycles (via bike path), and pedestrians. The tunnel supports the continued development of the Port of Santos.
The tunnel is a longstanding demand that will reduce travel time between the two cities. Currently, over 28,000 people cross the canal daily using small boats and ferries.
