The São Paulo Investment Partnerships Program (PPI-SP) has qualified the implementation of Metro Line 16–Violeta. The new line will help improve public transport mobility by connecting the eastern and western zones of the city.

Phase 1 will cover the regions of Pinheiros, Jardins, Vila Mariana, Ipiranga, Mooca, and Vila Formosa, with 16 stations.

Line 16 is expected to include eight interconnections: Line 1–Blue at Ana Rosa Station; Line 2–Green at Ana Rosa and Anália Franco Stations; Line 4–Yellow at Oscar Freire Station; Line 6–Orange at São Carlos Station; Line 10–Turquoise at São Carlos Station; and the future Line 19–Celeste at Jardim Paulista Station; Line 20–Pink at Teodoro Sampaio Station; and Line 22–Brown also at Teodoro Sampaio Station.

Also known as the “Parks Line,” the new connection will feature stations near Ibirapuera, Aclimação, Independência, and Ceret parks, strengthening cultural activities and leisure opportunities in São Paulo.
